Pharwala fort


Looking for something different? So, shall I tell you a mysterious place which you haven’t seen before?  It’s really near to the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi, everybody who love to explore new place and want to visit unseen areas must love the place I am going to tell. It is good for the guys who want to gathered on a secrete place to have some fun because this place is quite far from residence. You can also plan small hiking tour towards entire place the way is beautiful there are small village life on the way and a river the track passing through fields which make you’re breathing warm ad peaceful there is a river where you can swim and fishing as well.

The place I am talking about is “Pharwala fort” yes it is the historical, mysterious, hidden, unseen and amazing fort which have many stories in it about their civilization. No one knows about the background and history of the great fort, will tell you later about it. This fort is built at the site of Swan River which was the source of water and also defending fort from front side. The fort is built on smaller mountain consists of six gates built at best way as during war food and ammunition can be easily transferable. The fort is located near Islamabad and Rawalpindi there is no significance of fort due to lack of Govt interest on those projects.

Access Pharwala fort is very easy it is round about 40 kilometers from Islamabad if someone took flights to Islamabad it is nearest place from airport to visit but, remember there is no road leading towards Pharwala fort you have to visit on your feet. I suggest that it is not suitable for family because it is too lonely place specially I recommend not stay there in night especially if you are with family. The way is from Taramri chowk to Nilore than Chirah chowk than Lehtaral road and cross the river Swan than take right turn and walk along with river you will find old building of Pharwala fort.

Background of Pharwala fort:
Fort is naturally defended by small range of Himalayas and Swan River, it is Ghakkar fort built in 15th century. One of the Mughal emperor Babar defeat this fort however he returns the fort to them. The fort is in territory of Qahota and only opened for Pakistani visitors foreigners have to take special permission to access it. It was the capital of the Ghakkar’s state being attacked by several kings such that Shahabuddin Ghauri attaecked in 1202 after that Qutubuddin Aybak attack back to get the role of this fort and after that Sher Shah Suri did same thing in 1540. According to historical evidence many times this fort was often won and loss it was the hot political and physically importance fort to get role upon Ghakkar civilization, unfortunately Pakistani people even don’t know the name of this mysterious fort hope fully soon it will be visited after completing the road towards ford.
